Mekanisme Wakaf dalam Produk Asuransi Jiwa Syariah untuk Meningkatkan Potensi Wakaf Nasional

This study analyzes the potential of national waqf integrated into Islamic life insurance products as an innovative strategy to increase waqf participation in Indonesia and strengthen the financial resilience of Muslims. Islamic financial principles such as ta'awun (mutual cooperation) and tabarru' (charity), as well as the concept of death benefit waqf (death benefit waqf/Islamic life insurance policy waqf), form the basis for implementing cash waqf. This study examines how Islamic life insurance can become an instrument for developing productive waqf that is inclusive and resilient to global economic risks. Secondary data from the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) are used to support the analysis, while aspects of Islamic accounting are discussed as key to transparency and accountability in waqf fund management. The study results indicate that this integration has the potential to significantly increase the value of national waqf and provide a sustainable financial alternative that supports the socio-economic development of the community. Policy recommendations focus on strengthening regulations, digitizing waqf institutions, and educating the public so that this innovation can be implemented effectively.
