Peningkatan Kualitas Sanitasi Masyarakat melalui Pembangunan Fasilitas Sanitasi di Kecamatan Tomo

Abstract

Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Tomo pada tahun 2024 difokuskan pada peningkatan akses terhadap fasilitas sanitasi yang memadai serta peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pentingnya praktik sanitasi yang baik. Program ini mengadopsi pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan masyarakat secara aktif dalam setiap tahap, mulai dari perencanaan hingga evaluasi. Edukasi dan pelatihan juga menjadi komponen utama dalam program ini untuk mendorong perubahan perilaku terkait sanitasi di kalangan masyarakat. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam jumlah desa yang memiliki akses ke fasilitas sanitasi layak, dari 12 desa pada tahun 2023 menjadi 18 desa pada tahun 2024. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya sanitasi, dari 40% sebelum intervensi menjadi 75% setelah intervensi. Program ini berhasil menunjukkan dampak positif terhadap kesehatan masyarakat, terutama dalam menurunkan prevalensi penyakit menular seperti diare. Keberhasilan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model bagi program serupa di daerah lain yang menghadapi tantangan sanitasi.
